Ask ten people to define the Monkey Village and you're bound to get ten different answers. And all of them would be valid. Most people involved with the Monkey Village have a hard time explaining the concept because it is an ever-evolving amalgam of personal expression.

We are not defined by shape, but by content. We are not bound by a specific genre or style. All that we ask out of our musicians is to focus on groove, the meeting place for rhythm and harmony.

We are here to help maintain a sense of community within the music, to groove for the joy of dancing, to live for the thrill of singing. We are not here to exult the ego or to promote violent behavior.

We just want the world to dance.
